This will be Marina’s 4th year coaching but her first year coaching with us at Apex NW. After she graduated high school Marina had the opportunities to play at the Community College and University level. Her freshman season she and her team won the Northwest Athletic Conference Volleyball championships and sophomore year she was awarded with an All-Star award from her conference. After graduating from Everett Community College with an Associates in Arts and Science she then coached with Everett Community for two years as an assistant coach. After her 2 years of coaching, Marina accepted a scholarship to continue her Bachelors degree and play Beach Volleyball at Corban University in Oregon. Along with college playing and coaching experience she also has 4 years of club coaching experience as an assistant, head and setting coach.
Part of Marina’s identity is also being a 4th generation Alaska commercial fisherman. She’s grown up in fishing ever since she was born. She travels to Alaska during the summer to work for her father and then comes back to live her winter’s in Washington state. Volleyball has been a part of her life for nine years and she's super excited to guide and share her knowledge and passion for the game with players. She believes mastering the basic fundamentals is the key to helping players thrive and flourish to their full potential.
“This year because of the pandemic I wasn’t sure If i was going to be able to coach again, but I am very grateful for the opportunity this club has given me to be a part of the Apex Family. I am getting very excited to start this season and help our athletes grow their knowledge and love for this amazing game!”
