Start the Recruitment Process
It is important to start early and/or stay diligent and work hard in getting noticed through contacting college’s through emails. I’ve had several coaches and players suggest using NCSA (Next College Student Athlete) and NSR (National Scouting Report).
Some notes on how to get started:
Put together a list of potential schools – there are many options including NCAA Division I, II, and III, NAIA, and Community Colleges.
Reach out to potential schools before you start club volleyball tournaments with phone calls. Motivate them to come see you play by sending college coaches your volleyball resume and your highlight video.
Post a highlight video on YouTube, Hudl, BeRecruited or another video sharing site and let college coaches know how to find it by including the full URL in your correspondence.
Include your contact information in the video.
Register at the NCAA Eligibility Center website. If you hope to obtain an athletic scholarship from an NCAA-affiliated college, you must register with the eligibility center and academically qualify.
