Jordan Shinaut

U17 Ascent Boys Head Coach

Jordan Shinaut is entering the next chapter of his coaching journey with excitement and passion. Originally from Peoria, Arizona, Jordan competed in volleyball throughout high school and continued on to play at the collegiate level for four years. During that time, he developed a deep understanding of the game, earning NCAA Newcomer of the Year and two-time All-American. Unfortunately, a career-ending injury in his senior year shifted their focus from playing to coaching, but that moment became a turning point that sparked a deeper passion for leadership and mentorship from the sidelines. Jordan earned their Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management and brings a strong foundation in personal training, coaching, and program development. He has worked with both individuals and groups, building programs focused on player development, teamwork, and motivation. Their coaching style centers on adaptability, clear communication, and creating strategies that inspire athletes to grow both on and off the court.

Jordan began his coaching journey at United Volleyball Club, where he served as a substitute coach. He picked up shifts whenever possible, stepping in to support various teams and coaching staff as needed. This flexible role allowed him to gain valuable experience working with different age groups and skill levels while contributing to the overall development of the athletes and the success of the club. Eventually, Jordan transitioned to Lion Heart Volleyball Club, where he took on a more permanent leadership role as the head coach for a 15s girls team. This opportunity allowed him to take full ownership of a team's growth and performance, from designing and running practices to mentoring players both on and off the court. His  time at LionHeart has further strengthened his ability to lead, communicate effectively, and build a positive, competitive team culture.

After college, Jordan dedicated time to expanding his coaching experience and is now eager to take the next step into a more active coaching role. Jordan has recently gotten the opportunity to coach at Whatcom Community College as a Graduate Assistant Coach, where he is going to learn and evolve more as a coach. With a strong belief in progress, accountability, and respect, Jordan brings high energy and ambition to every team environment. His is equally comfortable working within a team or independently and is always seeking opportunities to learn and evolve as a coach.

“I’m incredibly excited to connect with the Apex community and begin this next step in my coaching journey. I believe this is the right time to dive in, give back, and continue learning alongside a great group of athletes and staff.”
